Looking for some child-free time? The middle school youth group (and adult helpers) would love to care for your child on Saturday, December 10th while you do some shopping, or just get coffee and read a good book. Child care will be available from 9:00 a.m. to noon at St. Dunstan’s.  There is no charge; however, any tips will go towards the youth group’s summer trip.

Steven Miller, will lead worship, preach, and be available between services (at 9am) for conversation about our diocese and about our call as Christians in the world today. Spirituality of Parenting Lunch, Sunday, December 11, 11:30am: All who seek meaning in the journey of parenthood (at any age or stage) are welcome to come for food and conversation. Child care and a simple meal provided.

Jesus’ Grandmothers – Rahab: In this Advent season, each week we’re hearing from one of the women in Jesus’ lineage – named in Matthew 1:1-17. Matthew names three surprising women in that genealogy – Tamar, Rahab, and Ruth. This week we will hear from Rahab, whose story is found in the book of Joshua, chapters 2 and 6.

Help feed the students! St Francis House Dinner, Sunday, December 11: St. Dunstan’s will provide dinner for the St. Francis House community this Sunday. We are asked to provide food for up to 12 people. Vegan and gluten-free options are welcome. Please sign up in the Gathering Area if you can help with the meal, or contact Rev. Miranda.

Sharing Christmas: Many thanks for your generous response to this year’s “Sharing Christmas.” Your thoughtful gifts will bring the joys of Christmas to many families in our community.

It costs about $370 to send an elementary-school aged child to school for a year in Jeannette, Haiti. Our elementary Sunday school students would like to raise funds to send at least one child in Jeannette to school next year – and thanks to your donations and chocolate sales last Sunday, we’re already almost halfway there! You can support the kids’ mission by buying chocolates (suggested donation $4 apiece) or just making a donation. If you donate $25 or more, you may take a Haiti Christmas card for someone on your list who’d appreciate a donation made in their honor. You can give by cash or check in the basket in the Gathering Area, or by making an Outreach donation at donate.stdunstans.com, with a note designating “Haiti” in the comment box on the final screen when you are checking out.

Christmas Flowers: Celebrate what’s important to you with a gift that helps us decorate for Christmas and honors a loved one or a special event. Caroling in 2016: Last year a group of singers from St. Dunstan’s had a wonderful time visiting a few of our members and singing Christmas carols. We’d like to do the same this year. Vestry nominations are open! Would you be interested in serving on our vestry, our church’s governing body? Is there someone else you think would be a great candidate? Job descriptions and a box for nominations are in the Gathering Area. Open nominations will run throughout December.  We will be electing two new vestry members in January 2017. Wardens and Diocesan Convention deputies must be elected every year, so candidates for Junior and Senior Warden may also be nominated.

Madison-Area Julian Gathering, Wednesday, December 14, 7:15-9pm: Thomas Merton called Julian “the greatest theologian for our time.” Come to one of our monthly meetings and find out why—and learn about contemplative prayer. We meet the second Wednesday of each month. We’d love to see you.

Rector’s Discretionary Fund Offering, Sunday, December 18: Half the cash in our collection plate, and any designated checks, will go towards the Rector’s Discretionary Fund this day and on every third Sunday. Christmas Pageant Practice, Sunday, Dec. 18, 11:30am: All Actors are invited to a practice session for our Christmas Eve pageant. We will order pizza to sustain our team, and will go no later than 12:30pm.

The Longest Night: A Liturgy of Light in Darkness, Thursday, December 22, 6:30pm (dinner at 5:30pm): On December 22th, we will gather together out of the darkness of the season for a quiet, meditative worship service. Feel free to invite friends who might appreciate this time set apart to name the darkness in the world and in our lives, and prepare our hearts for the coming of the light of Christ. Contact Rev. Call for Annual Report Submissions: Every year in December/January, we invite our ministry leaders to submit a paragraph or two about what their ministry is and what they’ve done in the past year, and compile those reports into an Annual Report, shared with the congregation in advance of our parish Annual Meeting (9am on Sunday, January 22). This year we thought we’d cast the net more widely. If you have something you’d like to share, as a special moment, thanksgiving, or success to share, whether from a particular ministry or just something from the life of this household of faith, you’re welcome to submit it to . The deadline for all Annual Report materials is Friday, January 13.

Caregivers’ Support Group, Saturday, December 3, 9am: The sessions are planned for the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month. Learning about our Diocesan Haiti Partnership, Sunday, December 4, 9am: Heidi Ropa, the chair of our diocesan partnership with the rural community of Jeannette, Haiti, will be with us on Sunday, Dec. 4, to tell us about Jeannette, and the history and future of that partnership. Our Sunday school classes would like to raise funds this Advent to support a student in Haiti, helping with his or her educational and everyday expenses.

After-Church Outreach Opportunity: Christmas Cards for Jail Inmates, 11:45am, Sunday, December 4: The Falk Food Friends Grocery Packing is on hiatus until January; we’ve packed enough groceries to last for a little while! Instead, those who would like a simple way to reach out in care to those beyond our church walls are invited to gather in the Meeting Room to write some Christmas cards to people in the Dane County Jail.

First Sunday of Advent All-Ages Worship Sunday, November 27, 10am: Our last Sunday worship is intended especially to help kids (and grownups who are new to our pattern of worship) to engage and participate fully. NOTE: Our 8am service always follows our regular order of worship.

Middle School Lunch and Learn, Sunday, November 27, 11:30am-1pm: Rev. Miranda invites the 10-and-up youth of the parish to meet with her for lunch after church once a month. We’ll dig into faith, Scripture, life, and our questions about all three. We’ll wrap up by 1pm, and we can arrange rides home for the kids if that’s helpful.

Grace Shelter Dinner, Sunday, November 27, 7pm: Every fourth Sunday, a loyal group of St. Dunstan’s folk provides dinner for residents at the Grace Church shelter, and breakfast the next morning. See the signup sheet in the Gathering Area to help out. To learn more, talk with Rose Mueller.

Christmas Cards for Jail Inmates: If you feel called to this ministry, please take a few cards and a sheet of guidelines, and write some messages of good cheer. These cards will go to the men and women who will be inmates of the Dane County Jail this Christmas. Reaching out to those in prison is one of Jesus’ clearest calls on his followers, and while this is a small gesture, it still matters. Our goal is to complete 100 cards by Friday, December 16.

IN THE COMMUNITY…

Creating for a Cause Holiday Art Fair, December 3-4, MOM Food Pantry, 3502 Parmenter St., Middleton: Over 60 local artists will have stands at this event, and all are donating 20% or more of their proceeds to MOM’s homelessness prevention and hunger fighting programs.  Also featured at the event will be MOM Gifts of Hope, an “alternative gift” program perfect for purchasing for the person who has everything.

Ladies’ Night Out, Friday, November 18, 6pm: Join us for good food and good conversation among women of all ages from St. Dunstan’s. This month we will meet at Lalo’s Mexican Restaurant, 5510 University Ave in Madison.

Build Madison, Saturday, November 19, 11am – ?: Do you like to problem-solve, make stuff, and work with a team? One of Madison’s local maker-spaces (a facility with all kinds of equipment for making stuff) is having a 24 hour build-a-thon and St Dunstan’s has some Advent-themed projects that need making. We are hoping to take a contingent of both adults and kids to be there part of the time and you are welcome to bring your own project as well. People with all types of backgrounds are encouraged to join in, whether you are an artist, tinker, crafter, builder or just willing to try something new. Alex Surasky-Ysasi, a new member who is a designer and engineer, is looking for a few adults and youth to join her – for a few hours, if not the full 24! Piece Be with You! Please join us between services at 9:00am on November 20th for a festive, all-parish brunch celebrating the ingathering of our prayers, hopes, and financial pledges for our parish life in the coming year. Black Friday Craft-In: VOLUNTEERS WANTED, Friday, November 25, 1 – 4pm: This year we’ll host our third annual Black Friday Craft-In, a free public crafting event. We can use all kinds of volunteers – whether your skill is sewing, woodworking, stamping, paper crafting, helping little kids with simple crafts, smiling at people and saying “Welcome!”, setting up tables, or putting cookies on plates. Caroling in 2016: Last year a group of singers from St. Dunstan’s had a wonderful time visiting a few of our members and singing Christmas carols. We’d like to do the same this year. OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE…

Kids’ Advent Fundraiser: Last year the Sunday school kids asked the parish to contribute towards goats for people living in poverty in the developing world, through Episcopal Relief & Development. The parish was generous and we raised enough for four goats! This year we’d like to raise funds to support a schoolchild in Haiti, helping with his or her educational and everyday expenses, through the Haiti Project, an initiative of the Episcopal Diocese of Milwaukee. We’ll have a guest speaker on December 4 to tall us more. More information to come!

Men’s Book Club Meeting, Saturday, December 3, 10am: The book is Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City by Matthew Desmond. “Essential. Drama of the Book of Tobit, Sunday, November 13, 9:30am: A group of youth and adults prepared a wonderful dramatic rendering of the Book of Tobit for our Summer Bible & Arts Camp in August. This week they’ll perform it again for our congregation! Please come see the performance.

Sunday school, Sunday, November 13, 10am: This Sunday, our 3 year olds to kindergarten class will be learning about the Exile and Return, while our Elementary classes will work with the prophet Isaiah’s vision of joy and restoration.

Christian Formation Committee Meeting, Sunday, November 13, 11:30am: Our Christian Formation Committee will meet to review and plan programs, especially our Epiphany pageant and study groups for early 2017. All interested folks are welcome to attend and participate.

Build Madison, Saturday, November 19, 11am – ?: Do you like to problem-solve, make stuff, and work with a team? One of Madison’s local maker-spaces (a facility with all kinds of equipment for making stuff) is having a 24 hour build-a-thon and St Dunstan’s has some Advent-themed projects that need making. We are hoping to take a contingent of both adults and kids to be there part of the time and you are welcome to bring your own project as well. People with all types of backgrounds are encouraged to join in, whether you are an artist, tinker, crafter, builder or just willing to try something new. Alex Surasky-Ysasi, a new member who is a designer and engineer, is looking for a few adults and youth to join her – for a few hours, if not the full 24! International Potluck, Saturday, November 5, 5pm: Diversity comes in many flavors, and our congregation has a wide range of ages, sexual orientations, and nationalities.  The Diversity Potluck is a get-together intended to showcase and celebrate our beautiful diversity, whatever that word means to you.  Bring a dish that you feel celebrates your own personal diversity.  You can bring artwork, music, or poems (original or not) that celebrates it as well!  Feel free to dress up to celebrate it!  Dinner will start at 5:00.  Please, bring a small card telling us about your dish/art, and note if the dish is gluten free/ vegetarian/ peanut free.  Please sign up with what dish you are bringing in the Gathering Area.

“Breaking all the Rules: A Byzantine Princess Writes History”, Sunday, November 6, 9am: This fall we are starting a new 9am opportunity: a time for some of our members who are scholars, educators, and thinkers of deep thoughts to talk about things they love to talk about. Leonora Neville, one of our newer members, is a professor of history at UW-Madison. She’ll tell us about Anna Komnene, a fascinating figure who is the subject of Leonora’s most recent book.

All Saints’ Day, Sunday, Nov. 6: We will celebrate this holy day with an opportunity to remember the faithful departed; renewal of our baptismal vows; and, at our 10am service, a kids’ saint procession.

Remembrance Station: Consider bringing in a token of one of those saints whom you remember with love and respect, as an extension of our All Saints commemorations. Our Remembrance Station this year will include a place to hang pictures or notes, and a table where you may place a photo or other memento. Please don’t bring in anything precious or irreplaceable. On Sunday, November 20, we will commend these faithful departed to Christ our King.

Falk Food Friends Grocery Packing, Sunday, November 6, following the 10am service:  All helpers are welcome as we prepare weekend grocery bags for homeless families whose kids attend Falk Elementary School.

Election Day Prayers, Tuesday, November 8, 12pm: There will be a simple prayer service at noon. Whoever we are voting for, whatever our hopes or fears, we can come together and pray for the wellbeing of our city, nation, and world. All are welcome. There will also be a Communion service at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, at 1833 Regent Street, at 5:30pm that evening.

Madison-Area Julian Gathering, Wednesday, November 9, 7:15 – 9:00 PM: Julian of Norwich was a 15th Century English mystic and anchoress.  Little is known about Julian’s life, but she wrote a book, as far as we know the first in English written by a woman, about a series of revelations which opened her to the depths of God’s unconditional love for us in Jesus Christ. Come join us for contemplative prayer, fellowship, and reading/discussion of Julian’s book.  At the beginning of each meeting, brief instruction on the practice of contemplative prayer is offered.  All welcome.

Christmas Cards for Jail Inmates: St. Dunstan’s has been invited by our sister parish Grace Church to join them in writing Christmas cards to the inmates of the Dane County Jail. Christmas is a bleak time for these men and women, and even a simple message of kindness can bring some joy and hope. Our goal is to complete at least 100. Right now we are asking for donations of Christmas cards – odd leftovers from past years, ones you don’t really like enough to send, cheap ones from the thrift store. Once we have some cards, we’ll set up a Card-Writing Station where people can pause to write a message while they’re at church, or take a few cards and the guidelines for card-writing to do their writing at home. Cards will be delivered to the jail before Christmas.

Become a Mentor to a Local Student! The mentoring program at Kromrey Middle School aims to help kids who may face barriers due to their background or educational challenges, to be well-supported and high-school ready. If you enjoy working with young people and have wondered how to make a difference in our community, this may be a perfect opportunity for you. The initial training will be October 28. Application forms are available at St. Dunstan’s and should be sent in by October 24th.

Special Collection for Haiti, Sunday, October 16: Our diocese has a partnership with the community of Jeannette in Haiti. In the aftermath of the destruction of Hurricane Matthew, and at the request of our bishop, we will hold a special collection for Jeannette this Sunday in place of our usual collection for the Rector’s Discretionary Fund. Grace Shelter Dinner, Sunday, October 23, 7pm: Every fourth Sunday, a loyal group of St. Dunstan’s folk provides dinner for residents at the Grace Church shelter, and breakfast the next morning. See the signup sheet in the Gathering Area to help out. To learn more, talk with Rose Mueller.

Spooky Sandbox, Thursday, October 27, 5:30pm: All are welcome to a special edition of our weekly Thursday evening worship. We’ll share some spooky Bible stories, with appropriate music and crafts. Dinner will follow our inter-generational worship service. All are welcome!

Ladies’ Night Out, Friday, October 28, 6pm: Join our monthly get-together as we dine at area restaurants and enjoy good conversation among women of all ages from St. Dunstan’s. This month we will meet at Sa Bai Thong at 6802 Odana Road, in Madison. For more information or to arrange a ride, please contact Kathy Whitt or Debra Martinez.

Fall Giving Campaign: Kids’ Market: As the Kids’ portion of our fall Giving Campaign, the kids of St. Dunstan’s (and their parents) are invited to contribute used toys or other unwanted but useful items to our Kids’ Market, which will run from October 30 through November 13. Kids are encouraged to go through their rooms and bring in some small, good-condition items that are ready for a new home. (No clothing, and no more than one plastic grocery bag per child, please!) Please bring in all contributions by Sunday, October 30. Kids and adults of the parish can shop the Market from October 30 through November 13. All donations will go to support our 2017 parish budget, as our kids’ contribution to our church’s ongoing life. Thanks for your participation!

Naming our Saints: In anticipation of All Saints Day, please fill out one or more Saint Slips, available in the Gathering Area. Tell us about a saint, well-known or known only to you, whom you remember with love.

All Saints’ Day, Sunday, Nov. 6: We will celebrate this holy day with an opportunity to remember the faithful departed; renewal of our baptismal vows; and, at our 10am service, a kids’ saint procession.

Remembrance Station: Consider bringing in a token of one of those saints whom you remember with love and respect, as an extension of our All Saints commemorations. Our Remembrance Station this year will include a place to hang pictures or notes, and a table where you may place a photo or other memento. Please don’t bring in anything precious or irreplaceable. On Sunday, November 20, we will commend these faithful departed to Christ our King.

International Potluck, Saturday, November 5, 5pm: Diversity comes in many flavors, and our congregation has a wide range of ages, sexual orientations, and nationalities.  The Diversity Potluck is a get-together intended to showcase and celebrate our beautiful diversity, whatever that word means to you.  Bring a dish that you feel celebrates your own personal diversity.  You can bring artwork, music, or poems (original or not) that celebrates it as well!  Feel free to dress up to celebrate it!  Dinner will start at 5:00.  Please, bring a small card telling us about your dish/art, and note if the dish is gluten free/ vegetarian/ peanut free.  Please sign up with what dish you are bringing in the Gathering Area.

OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE…

Christmas Cards for Jail Inmates: St. Dunstan’s has been invited by our sister parish Grace Church to join them in writing Christmas cards to the inmates of the Dane County Jail. Christmas is a bleak time for these men and women, and even a simple message of kindness can bring some joy and hope. Our goal is to complete at least 100. Right now we are asking for donations of Christmas cards – odd leftovers from past years, ones you don’t really like enough to send, cheap ones from the thrift store. Once we have some cards, we’ll set up a Card-Writing Station where people can pause to write a message while they’re at church, or take a few cards and the guidelines for card-writing to do their writing at home. Cards will be delivered to the jail before Christmas.

Become a Mentor to a Local Student! The mentoring program at Kromrey Middle School aims to help kids who may face barriers due to their background or educational challenges, to be well-supported and high-school ready. If you enjoy working with young people and have wondered how to make a difference in our community, this may be a perfect opportunity for you. The initial training will be October 28. Application forms are available at St. Dunstan’s and should be sent in by October 24th.

THIS WEEK…

Diocesan Convention Eucharist, Friday, October 7, 5pm, Madison Marriott West Ballroom (in Middleton): Our Diocesan Convention this fall is right up the road, and our Convention Eucharist, celebrating and exploring multicultural worship, will take place Friday evening. You don’t have to be registered to attend the Eucharist – all are welcome!

Sunday school, Sunday, October 9, 10am: This Sunday, our 3 year olds to kindergarten class will be learning about the Flood and the Ark, while our Elementary classes will work with Luke’s Gospel story about healing and gratitude.

Fall Clean-Up, Sunday, October 9, 11:30 – 1:30pm: Wear your work clothes to church and stay after the 10am service for a simple lunch (with an overview of tasks to complete while we’re eating), followed by time to work on our grounds. We’ll wrap up by 1:30pm, but you can leave anytime you’ve completed your tasks.

Please wear your name tags! It’s helpful to both newer members who are trying to get to know folks, and to long-time members who might still need a hint. If you don’t have a nametag, or have lost yours, you can sign up to get a nametag on the bulletin board just around the corner from the big calendar.

Liturgy and Music Planning Meeting, Thursday, October 13, 7pm: We’ll meet to plan ahead for Advent, Christmas, and Epiphany, and to discuss some new liturgical possibilities. All are welcome!

Parish Map & Regional Groups: Last year we created a map of our parish, by having members put pins in a map for their home and workplace or other places where they spend time. (If you didn’t participate, but we have your home address, we have added you!) We are sharing the Map back to the parish, with some tentative Regional Groups outlined. It may be interesting and useful to know what other members of the parish live near you, and we may try out organizing dinner gatherings or other events on this basis, as one way to know each other better. Online Social justice Reading Group Starting Oct. 10: Our neighbors at Foundry414 invite any interested members of St. Dunstan’s to join a new Social Justice Reading Group. You’ll read a chapter a week and sign in to the book group website to discuss it with others. The first two books will be Slow Kingdom Coming by Kent Annan and Trouble I’ve Seen by Drew Hart. Madison-Area Julian Gathering, Wednesday, October 12, 7:15 – 9pm: St. Julian’s era was one of turmoil and crisis.  In the midst of it all, Julian came to believe unshakably that “all shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.” Please join us for contemplative prayer and discussion of Julian’s optimistic theology!

Caregivers’ Support Group, Saturday, October 15, 9am: The sessions are planned for the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month. This will be a safe space to share concerns with others who have similar situations and to offer support in return. For more information, contact John Rasmus, Bonnie Magnuson  or Joseph Wermeling.

Men’s Book Club, Saturday, October 15, 10am-12noon: The book is The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd. The story follows Hetty “Handful” Grimke, a Charleston slave, and Sarah, the daughter of the wealthy Grimke family. The novel begins on Sarah’s eleventh birthday, when she is given ownership over Handful, who is to be her handmaid. Inspired in part by the historical figure of Sarah Grimke (a feminist, suffragist and, importantly, an abolitionist), Kidd allows herself to go beyond the record to flesh out the inner lives of all the characters, both real and imagined.

Creation Care meeting, Saturday, October 15, 12-1:30pm: We will discuss how to move ahead with living into our Creation Care Mission Statement. Members of the parish who’d like to get involved are welcome to attend.

Rector’s Discretionary Fund Offering, Sunday, October 16: Half the cash in our collection plate, and any designated checks, will go towards the Rector’s Discretionary Fund this day and on every third Sunday. This fund is a way to quietly help people with direct financial needs, in the parish and the wider community. Please give generously.

Episcopal 101, Sunday, October 16, 9am: An ongoing exploration of the Episcopal Church for new and long-time members.  All are welcome!

Sunday school, Sunday, October 16, 10am: This Sunday, our 3 year olds to kindergarten class will be learning about the Great Family, while our Elementary classes explore the parable of the Unjust Judge.

Spirituality of Parenting Lunch, Sunday, October 16, 11:30am: All who seek meaning in the journey of parenthood (at any age or stage) are welcome to come for food and conversation. Child care and a simple meal provided.

Crop Walk 2016, Sunday, October 16, 12:45pm: St. Dunstan’s will send a team of walkers; watch for a signup soon! Last year over $36,000 was raised to support the work of many local food pantries and international relief agencies. The goal for this year is $40,000. Come and make a difference.

The funeral for Frances Ver Hoeve will be on Saturday, September 24, at 2pm. Members of the parish who would like to contribute to a light reception following the service should contact Connie Ott.

Last Sunday All-Ages Worship, Sunday, September 25, 10am: Our last Sunday worship is intended especially to help kids (and grownups who are new to our pattern of worship) to engage and participate fully. NOTE: Our 8am service always follows our regular order of worship.

Take Out Church: Punch Card Rewards! Did you practice discipleship this summer? Bring in your punch card with at least three holes punched (like Jesus, we set the discipleship bar low! :-) on Sunday, Sept. 25 or beyond, and receive a prize!

Parents’ Meeting for Children’s Choir, Sunday, September 25, 11:30am: Households interested in our plans for a new Children’s Choir are invited to meet and talk with Martin Ganschow, our Organist & Choir Director. This will be a brief meeting for planning and input. Talk with Martin or Rev. Miranda to learn more.

Middle School Lunch & Learn, Sunday, September 25, 11:30am: Rev. Miranda invites the 10-and-up youth of the parish to meet with her for lunch after church once a month. We’ll dig into faith, Scripture, life, and our questions about all three. We’ll wrap up by 1pm, and we can arrange rides home for the kids if that helps the parents’ schedules.

Helpers Needed – Edgewood in the Community, Wednesday, September 28, 9:30am-2:30pm: Edgewood High School will be sending 20 students to St. Dunstan’s this day to do yard work as part of their community service. If you would like to work with a small group of students and help direct them, please contact George Ott. Wheelbarrows and pitchforks are still needed too. Thanks!

Nursery Care: St. Dunstan’s does not have a regularly-attended nursery during worship, because we have found that that service is rarely used. Instead, we have two Child Care Helpers during the 10am service, who attend the Peace Corner in the back of the Nave. If you would like your child to have nursery care during the service, simply approach the Child Care Helpers in the Peace Corner (either at the beginning of worship, or when your child needs a break) and ask if one of them can take your child to the Nursery. This year we are using the Meeting Room, where we keep some toys, books, and art supplies, for our Nursery during worship. The downstairs room that used to serve as Nursery has become a Sunday school classroom.

“What Am I Doing Here?” – An Introduction to the Episcopal Church, Sundays at 9am in October. Both new Episcopalians and long-time members are invited to join us for a friendly exploration of the parts and purpose of our pattern of worship and to the Episcopal church in general. This class will begin on Sunday, October 2.

Backpack Snack Prep, Sunday, October 2, 12noon:  We will be preparing weekend grocery bags for homeless families whose kids attend Falk Elementary School. All helpers welcome!

Blessing of the Animals Service, Sunday, October 2, 3pm: People and creatures are invited to a short service of song, story, and prayer. We will also share some ideas for connecting lovingly with God’s Creation. Spread the word!

Birthdays and anniversaries will be honored next Sunday, October 2, as is our custom on the first Sunday of every month. Come forward after the Announcements to receive a blessing and the community’s prayers.

Healing prayers: Next Sunday, one of our ministers will offer healing prayers for those who wish to receive prayers for themselves or on behalf of others.

MOM Special Offering, Sunday, October 2: Next Sunday, half the cash in our offering plate and any designated checks will be given to Middleton Outreach Ministry’s food pantry. Here are the current top-ten, most needed items: dried beans, whole grains, herbs and spices, low-sugar beverages, ethnic foods, spaghetti & pizza sauce, cooking oil, single-serve peanut butter, whole grain cereal, laundry detergent. Dine out for DAIS, Thursday, October 6, 2016: Each year, during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Domestic Abuse Intervention Services (DAIS) invites area restaurants to donate 10% of their proceeds from a given day to support victims of domestic violence in Dane County. You can also use that link to donate directly to DAIS’ good work helping families affected by domestic violence. The Sandbox Thursday evening worshipping community plans to eat at the Imperial Garden that evening at 6:30pm following our 5:30 worship; anyone is welcome to join us.
